A Simple Way to Reduce Stress. If you are extremely busy and don’t have time to decompress here’s a tip. Take a moment on YouTube and favorite a few music videos that you like the relaxing sounds of. Play the video while taking a shower, brushing your teeth, making a meal, paying bills and other activities of daily living. This allows you to receive the health benefits of creating calmness in your mind and in your nervous system. It often takes 30 days to create a new habit and I recommend this tip for at least that length of time. Insomnia Is awful! When I turned 40 and was premenopausal, insomnia hit me hard. I was helped through tips like this by Dr. Hedberg along with the occasional over the counter sleep aid. According to this article: “90 million Americans are plagued with insomnia and miss out on sleep’s wonderful healing properties. Insomnia can cause you to become more inflamed and more insulin resistant simply by getting 6 hours of sleep or less. The immune system will also suffer significantly if you don’t get enough sleep making you more prone to colds and the flu.” Please take the time to find the combination of things that work for you in allowing you to sleep and to have your health and quality of life restored!

The Healing Power of Sound
January 24, 2018

Remember the commercial of the opera singer shattering the wine glass? Take that concept into how sound can effect health. Dr. Anthony Holland, a composer and musician was always interested in the physical effects of sound and set out to find the frequencies that would shatter cancer cells. After one year of experimenting in the laboratory he found the frequencies that combatted 60% of the cells of Pancreatic Cancer and Leukemia. The lab Novobiotronics is raising money to test these frequencies on living subjects. Their goal is create a non toxic, non invasive and inexpensive treatment for cancer and perhaps other diseases using sound. They aren’t the first to experiment with sound and cancer. In the early 1900’s Dr. Royal Rife began experimenting with frequencies that worked on two viruses that he found associated with cancer. Practitioners are still using Rife technology that he discovered years ago. If you saw the movie Heal, Dr. Jeffrey Thompson began experimenting with sound and its effects on the body and brain in 1981 at his Holistic Health Center in Virginia. His experiments involved using exact sound frequencies to make chiropractic spinal and cranial adjustments, to stimulate and normalize organ function, and to balance acupuncture meridians. His clinical research with thousands of patients and volunteers led to groundbreaking discoveries in how sound frequency patterns, built into musical soundtracks, can entrain brainwaves and trigger numerous health benefits.

This incredible technique could be a game-changer for cancer treatment. Explore more alternative health discoveries: http://ow.ly/B9Ty30gTw0r

Chiropractic May Help the Brain Clean its Waste Products.
January 22, 2018

Have you heard of the Glymphatic System? It’s what cleans waste products rather quickly from the brain. If it fails to cleanse as it is meant to, scientists believe this may be an important factor for many brain conditions such as: traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and Parkinson’s disease. It seems to me that the glymphatic system could also be effected by concussions, hits on the head or other head traumas. For any of these conditions, I suggest Craniosacral Therapy and Chiropractic Care of neck. The reason being is that scientists have been studying the effects of craniosacral therapy on helping the glymphatic system. There also is knowledge of the impact that chiropractic care of the of upper neck has on intracranial fluid dynamics.

Chiropractic Helps You Handle Stress.
January 17, 2018

How well does your body handle stress in order to stay healthy? This can depend on the balance of the fright or flight, rest and digest systems “aka” the autonomic nervous system. Great news, a Chiropractic Study involving 631 subjects, demonstrated consistent balance of the autonomic nervous system to help the body better handle stress. The rest and digest part of the nervous system helps the body with: digestion, fuel storage, insulin activity, resistance to infection, rest and recuperation, circulation to the skin and extremities, and releasing the “feel good” endorphin hormones. The fright or flight system helps the body with: blood pressure, heart rate, fuel availability of sugar and fats, adrenaline, oxygen circulation to vital organs, blood clotting, pupil size and peripheral vision to improve vision. This is why I recommend consistent Chiropractic Care as part of a wellness program to help balance the systems of the body.

Heal, is a documentary worth seeing!
January 15, 2018

If you enjoy documentaries then go see Heal. It contains information on the mind body connection and also follows two patients along their journey. One of my patients loved it and said it helped her understand more clearly how emotions can effect health. She felt empowered and hopefully you will too. I enjoyed this documentary and have included details about some of these experts that you may find interesting.

Dr. Darren Weissman has written a few best sellers and I had a chance to interview him. (You can find the interview on YouTube at WYSDrDarren) He created the LifeLine technique and travels all over the world teaching. LifeLine is a way to help guide one to the emotions that cause symptoms, stress and ill health. Getting to the root will balance and harmonize the body for healing to occur.

Dr. Joe Dispenza became well known in the movie What the Bleep. In Heal he shares that he was hit by a truck during a triathlon resulting in fractured vertebra of his spine. Told that he may never walk again, he did the impossible and decided not to have surgery. Instead, he did intense visualization many hours a day, envisioning total healing of his spine. Within 6 weeks he was walking and in 10 weeks running. He has written many books and holds workshops all over the world. Attendees have been studied by scientists to measure the powerful effects this work has on the brain and the heart.

Kelly Turner, Ph.D. is the author of Radical Remission. She got her Ph.D. studying 1,000 case studies found in medical journals of cancer patients that had spontaneous healings. She then wrote a book about cancer patients that she personally interviewed and found there were 9 common threads to the Radical Remission of Cancer. 7 of those had to deal with the mind. What I like about her approach is her flexibility. I find this refreshing as it’s easy to become rigid and think a certain philosophy, diet, exercise, technique, etc… is the only way.

Anita Moorjani was dying of cancer and had a Near Death Experience (NDE). The effects of this were that she healed very quickly after being on her deathbed, much to the surprise of her medical doctors. Her experience also made her aware that we can either make decisions out of fear or love. That even though she “ate healthy” and did all of what she thought was “right”, it all was fear based. She wrote about her NDE and travels all over the world to share her message.

These are just a few of the experts in the movie and I encourage you to see Heal.

Chiropractic helped this woman’s Secondary Hypothyroidism and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
January 8, 2018

What do you think about this case study? A 34 Year Old Woman presented to a chiropractic office complaining of hip and back pain along with medically diagnosed irritable bowel syndrome and secondary hypothyroidism. After two months of care, the patient reported improvement in thyroid function determined by a thyroid function test and she was able to stop her medication. Additionally, the patient reported improvement in her irritable bowel syndrome, low back, hip and upper back pain.
If you’re wondering how her secondary hypothyroidism and irritable bowel could have been helped by chiropractic then look online at the images of the central Nervous System and the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic Systems. Notice how the nerves flow from the brain all the way down the spine and then out to the organs and other systems of the body. Either the communication from the brain and spine to the systems of the body are balanced or not. Chiropractic can help balance this communication, resulting in positive outcomes even beyond pain management.

Two Year Old With Seizures, Gets Relief With Chiropractic.
January 3, 2018

Beautiful outcome for this 2 Year Old. She was having seizures every day from a rare disorder, where the brain surface appears smooth. Just two months of chiropractic care and there was a reduction of the seizures along with improved motor control and coordination. This is why I feel blessed to be a Chiropractor: respect the body by releasing interference and then let nature take its course.
